Heike Leermann

The portrait of a voice as a cry that time and again attempts to manifest itself, that be- comes progressively more palpable visually but is never heard. What thrusts itself from the inside to the outside is foreign, distorted. The fragment, the transition, the dissociation, and the repetition become the image. That is what ultimately removes all suggestion and force from the cry, which is not a cry and does not become one; what turns the one crying from a protagonist into a listening voyeur, into someone with autism.
